Thanksgiving Blessings to you and yours
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.
Greetings to you today Church,
We write today as we focus on the precious love of God poured out for all. There comes to mind a song of praise from old; it was titled, If it Had Not Been. The lyrics included ‘If it had, Not, Been For The Lord, On My Side, Where Would I Be?,… He Never Left Me All Alone, He Gave Me Peace And Joy I’ve Never Known, He Answered When I Knelt To Him In Prayer, And In Victory The Lord Brought Me This Way, If it had, Not, Been For The Lord, On My Side, Where Would I Be? This selection of praise says it all! His love, His protecting power, His guiding us each day! The Lord God brings us through, He is always on our side!
Throughout this year, the challenges, some great, some small, have been presented before each of us here at the Christ’s Chapel – Full Gospel Church. However in giving all glory to the Lord, we stand and ‘give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever’ (Ps. 106:1). It is our prayer, that as you look back over the last ten months, that your heart will overflow with praise in thanksgiving! On one side, as the Church, we have been touched by sickness and death, by lack and by need. We have felt what it is like to be isolated and alone. And then, on the other side, as a people of God, united in one Spirit, we have experienced life, more abundantly – life that only comes through a closer relationship with the Lord Jesus, listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit. You have joined together, whether by phone, social media, in-person, or on-line. The battles of the day have not destroyed us, but have given us a new shout before the Lord. You, the children of God, have risen to the occasion, praying for one another, worshipping, caring, meeting the needs, sending special greetings, writing words of inspiration – You have given the love of God! All thanks be to the Lord Jesus.
To all who have participated together, it is our prayer that in the midst of every challenge, that you have truly been blessed of God. That we your pastors together with the whole family of Christ’s Chapel, have brought an element of true joy, to your life and walk with the Lord. In the event that you have not been able to join in, to the degree that you would so desire, we invite you do so today. Join in – in prayer for the whole Church – in prayerful support to the needs of the Church – and in fellowship and worship either in-person or on-line.
Together, in the spirit of thankfulness – forgetting not all His benefits – may you give freely into the work of the Church, this Thanksgiving… and as you do, ‘the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in all that you undertake’ (Duet 15).
May your day of Thanksgiving be filled with the love and joy of our Lord God. Give Jesus today!
