Sabbath Greetings to you Today,
I trust that the days have been well with you. Once again, I come to you with a short word from our Lord Jesus. This week we will conclude our series on the Blessings of God from the teachings of the Beatitudes.
It is from the sermon on the Mount (Mt. 5), that we find Jesus speaking to his disciples as he taught of the promises of God. There he taught that you shall be blessed (happy), as you recognize you are poor in spirit, lacking and in need of the hand of God. Yours (vs 3) is the kingdom of heaven. He goes on with (vs 4) blessed are those who mourn, (broken and saddened by sin, recognizing the need for the saving grace of the Lord), for they shall be comforted (John 3:16). Christ further teaches, (v 5) Blessed (happy) are the meek (meek in spirit both before God and man), for they shall inherit the earth. (v 6) Blessed (happy) are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness (the righteousness of God), for they shall be satisfied. Blessed (happy) are the merciful (v 7. showing compassion in the like manner as God – Luke 6:36), for the shall receive mercy (Heb. 4:16). Blessed (happy) are the pure (spiritually clean – purified by God – John 15:3, 2 Cor 5:17-21) in heart, for they shall see God. Thank you God! And then as we close out our series, we find our Lord Jesus teaching of your Divine blessing of happiness as you are (v 9) a peacemaker (declaring God’s teachings which bring others to His saving power to be made whole) for you shall be called the son’s of God.
Church, Jesus continues with, that as you walk uprightly before the Lord God, (v 10) persecution for righteousness’ sake may be experienced. And that a holy walk may be met with (v 11) reviling, persecution and evil minded accusations on account of professing Christ as Lord. But oh praise God….. yours is the kingdom of heaven! This world, without the saving grace of Christ Jesus is in darkness, but He has come that the sinner might be set free, reconciled, brought to peace with God (Romans 5:1). Today, know that God has pronounced over you a blessedness; a divine happiness which is realized in its fullness as you trust in Him, following in His ways, according to His word. 1 Cor. 1:18 reminds you today ‘the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God’. So therefore Brothers and Sisters in the Lord, go forth today, (v 12) Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Be reminded, services begin each Sunday at 10:30AM. In the event that you are not with us, you are able to find the full sermon posted on the website (cc-fga.org) each week. God be with you!
