Loving People – Sharing Christ
Greetings to you in the name of our Lord Jesus.
This week I write to encourage all the children of God to stand firm in your ministry calling. You may ask, Pastor, what is my calling? To realize that we have a calling of God upon our lives may at times seem heavy, however we are promised that we have the blessed Holy Spirit, to be with us and in us. By His conviction, leading and teaching, God empowers you to do His will.
As we search the Word of God, we will find a host of personal actions to which we are called by the Lord, including to love him; to walk with him, to believe upon his name; to honor him; and to love and care for our neighbor. However, today the Lord is leading for the sharing of 2 Corinthians 5:17-21, to be reminded of the ministry calling placed upon all who believe in Christ Jesus. Here we find….
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.b The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 18 All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 that is, in Christ God was reconcilingc the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. 20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. 21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
Church, here by the influence of the Holy Spirit, the Apostle Paul is teaching that as you believe upon Christ Jesus and as you walk with Him, you are a new creation, reconciled (brought back) to the Father, and given the ministry of reconciliation. As the child of God, you become the ambassador for Christ. You are called to be a living example, to go into all the world and make disciples (Mt. 28:19), testifying of the saving grace of God poured out to you (John 10:18), witnessing to those whom God places before you, of the blessed gift of God – reconciliation (John 3:16, Romans 10:9), through Christ.
I pray that in the days ahead, you will walk boldly, proclaiming who you are in Christ and what He has done for you! You are called to give the witness. Pray that by the conviction of the Holy Spirit, all will be drawn unto the Lord Jesus. Walk strong in your ministry calling today!
