If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14
Across our great country, thousands upon thousands of the people of God are joining in prayer today for our land. Thoughout the day, many will join in Washington, DC with the national prayer march. Many more will join in with online streaming, praying fervently for the hand of God to bring healing.
As we look about today, whether it be with a national, state or local view, across the board we are able to witness the affects of sin and wickedness. Proverbs 21:2 reminds us today that ‘Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord ponders the hearts’. The way of the flesh is to satisfy the flesh. Sin is the pride and glory – even the joy and ambition of the heart of wickedness. But ah praise the Lord – Jesus is the answer! God speaks to all mankind through 1 John 3:8 with ‘Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil’.
Please join in today and throughout this weekend with all the people of God, going before the throne of Grace, praying for the conviction of the blessed Holy Spirit to fall upon this nation, upon all the people. Pray that the church will rise up to the call to walk in the righteousness of God, proclaiming that our salvation is by and through Jesus Christ and him alone! Pray for the turning of this nation away from walking outside of the ways of God, dishonoring human life, fostering un-forgiveness, seeking the gratification of the flesh (Gal. 5). Pray for the healing of God – for His love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, faithfulness, self-control and gentleness, all by the influence of the Holy Spirit to rain down upon our land, as the saving grace of Jesus Christ is received.
