Stir Up One Another
Christ’s Chapel Weekly Greetings 6/7/20
by Pastor Simeon
Greetings to you once again Church,
It is with great joy that I pause to write today, for now we as a nation, as a community, we are beginning to move forward toward reuniting ‘in person’ as the family of God. In speaking of our faith in Christ Jesus, and the importance of encouraging one another to be strong in the Lord, I am reminded of the Scripture today from Hebrews 10:23-25;
Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
Here the Lord is reminding you today, as one who has taken faith in Him, you are to always make it a point to hold fast, unshakable and firm in your faith. It is said here, ‘without wavering’ for He who promised is faithful!
Your day, or even your last week – or you may be able to say, ‘my last season of time, ever since the coming of the COVID-19 virus, my life seems to have been turned upside down’. For many, the loss of work or the safer at home restrictions and guidelines have begun to wear heavy and even challenge your hope for tomorrow. If you know someone or find yourself in this place today, please take comfort in the reassurance of God’s word for you, ‘He who promised is faithful’. This is God Almighty! God the Father, and God the Son, and God the Spirit. To Him be all glory! Your God is the One who promises. His promises are exceedingly great, and applicable to every case of His people. For that which is temporal, spiritual and everlasting!
May you join with me today, proclaiming ‘Lord, I take faith in your word, knowing that in this moment, You are with me for You have promised that You will never leave nor forsake me, and that as I acknowledge You, taking faith in Your name, you will make my paths straight’! Amen. As you continue to proclaim your faith in the strength of God to see you through every day, I also encourage you, stir up someone else today by sharing your testimony and faith. And let us begin to plan to once again meet together, beginning in small groups of 25 or less.
Christ’s Chapel will reopen on Sunday, June 14th at 10:30AM. Please watch for the sending of more information regarding the cautionary safety guidelines which we will follow, such as a maximum of 25 persons in the sanctuary, 6 ft distancing, wearing of masks, and full sanitization protocols.
It is planned that Sunday services will be recorded and either streamed live or posted for viewing by all who are unable to be with us in person.
