Christ’s Chapel Weekly Greetings 5/10/20
by Pastor Simeon
Dear Family of God,
Once again, I greet you in the name of our Lord Jesus. Over the past number of weeks, it has become familiar to me to settle in before the Lord, asking, Lord, what is Your word for the your children today? How might Your word encourage each one today?
In prayer and study for writing this weekly pastoral greeting, I felt the Lord speaking the word Decision over and over in my spirit.
In this season of events unfolding around the world, we see that governments are being faced with a magnitude of decisions, the likes of which have not been required for many many years! The average citizen, regardless of which country you are a citizen of, you are being called upon to make the everyday, moment by moment, decisions that concern health and well being, sustenance, friends and family and even worship. These types of important decisions and many many more, may be required of you, if not already, certainly in the weeks and months ahead. Above all, know today, the greatest decision that you are being called to today is to accept the Lord Jesus as Savior, and to follow in the wisdom of His word. For every decision thereafter, His love and truth will guide you.
Today I encourage every child of God, to take faith in God Almighty to see you through, both with the small and even in the monumental decisions and tasks of life. Professionals will tell us that the world events and the subsequent challenges that each of us are adjusting to, will be us, changing from day to day, for the foreseeable future. It is always wise to hear what the professionals and leadership have to say and advise. However, let every child of God be mindful that just as the Lord God spoke through the palmist so long ago, He likewise speaks to you for your every day. Hear today, the voice of your Father in heaven! Within Psalm 32 David cried out to the Lord,
You are a hiding place for me; You preserve me from trouble;
You surround me with shouts of deliverance. Selah
Then within the strophe of enlightening wisdom, the Lord God speaks through David to all His people, then and now, with the following promise.
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will counsel you with my eye upon you.
Be not like a horse or a mule, without understanding,
which must be curbed with bit and bridle, or it will not stay near you.
Many are the sorrows of the wicked, but steadfast love surrounds the one who trusts in the Lord.
Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, O righteous, and shout for joy, all you upright in heart!
As you turn to the Lord God for every element of your decision making, praying for wisdom (James 1:5), may you believe for, by His Spirit, the voice of God will instruct you in the way to go. Let us not fail to go to Him, thus bringing sorrow, but let us be glad in the Lord, rejoicing, shouting for joy, for He is covering you and surrounding you with His saving power! Let your decision be today, I will trust be in the Lord! Rejoice today, God is with you.
